Culinary Specialist
Duration: 6+ month contract
Location: Rosemont, IL 60018
 
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Culinary Specialist for one of our clients in the Rosemont area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Precisely execute culinary processes through cuttings & cooking comparisons.
  • Collaborate with inventory steward on sample ordering, set-up staging of cuttings, following exact manufactures cooking instructions, data collection and analysis incorporating the competitive findings between Exclusive Brands, Market Brands and other brands. 
  • Coordinating & facilitating Culinary Focused cuttings. Possess high level of culinary knowledge for fast paced presentations associated with the products. Including set-up, cooking & breakdown of product evaluations. 
  • Collaborating with Inventory Steward ordering and receipt of products from within as well as external suppliers. 
  • Inventory control, including short term & long-term effective management & weekly product donations to Greater Chicago Food Depository at the offsite facility @ Westin Hotel O’Hare and Rosemont Test Kitchen 
  • Maintain a detailed log of all culinary findings related to all cooking procedures including multiple methods. Detailing outcomes w/ photos and culinary observations in excel format. 

Qualifications:
  • 2-year Culinary Degree preferred & a minimum of 2 years relevant Research & Development culinary experience.
  • Must have experience in inventory & ordering management.
  • Food Service Sanitation Certified is a must.
  • Prior experience working in a large fast paced foodservice environment strongly desired. 
  • Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills, attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate firm culinary knowledge and ability to remain organized and manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Must possess a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must possess an ability to interact with suppliers and staff up to & including Executive Team.
  • Problem Solving Skills are also a must; candidate must be able to prioritize based on project needs & impact.
