Information Security Engineer
Duration: 6+ month contract
Location: Vernon Hills, IL 60061
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for an Information Security Engineer for one of our clients in the Vernon Hills area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
The Information Security Engineer implements and maintains the Information Security technical controls in accordance with the corporate information security program. The Security Engineer performs the identification, evaluation, selection, implementation and optimization of new Information Security initiatives. The Security Engineer provides support for security events and incidents and resolves or escalates as necessary. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain information security technologies to enforce the company’s information security policies, standards, and procedures 
  • Build and maintain threat intelligence and vulnerability management practices 
  • Perform risk analysis for company initiatives to protect against potential security issues 
  • Support security policies, practices and guidelines and make recommendations for change as needed. 
  • Maintain and expand current knowledge of the information security threat landscape, security framework, application security and technology advancements in the IT industry. 
  • Provide operational support for Information Security technologies, including participation in 24/7 on-call support rotation. 
  • Perform information security incident response activity as needed 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 3 years cumulative information security experience
  • Network & Endpoint Security 
  • Cryptography and Public Key Infrastructure 
  • Security Monitoring & Incident Handling 
  • Threat Intelligence 
  • Vulnerability Management 
  • Identity & Access Management 
  • Security Operations 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects 
  • Ability to mentor junior team members 
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to be resourceful. 
  • Any relevant security certifications, such as: GIAC or CISSP preferred
