Our client is seeking applicants for the position of Strategic Sourcing Project Manager, reporting to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing, within Global Procurement. The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager is a key member of the Global Procurement team that is committed to excellence and is dedicated to achieving the Company’s mission to become a leading direct bank. The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager position within Global Procurement provides a unique and exciting opportunity for the right person to help transform the procurement process by using data driven analysis to focus on the total cost of ownership and achieving the best value. The Global Procurement team provides leadership in the procurement of goods and services by combining sound business controls with efficient and timely service. Global Procurement assists business partners in obtaining the best value for every dollar while complying with applicable law and regulations.
 


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position is accountable for execution and implementation of effective procurement strategies for indirect and or direct goods and services. This includes development of short-term and long-term sourcing strategies that align with goals for reducing cost, mitigating risk and meeting financial expectations.
  • Utilize strategic sourcing process and data driven analytics to benchmark the cost and quality of goods and services and negotiate optimal commercial terms and conditions that meet the needs of Stakeholders and optimize the total cost of ownership for the Company, including: Based on an analysis of Company spend, client activity and the marketplace, develop and recommend the most appropriate and efficient sourcing strategy for each project assigned.
  • Develop and compose RFx specifications and requirements in such a manner that stakeholder needs are addressed.
  • Analyze RFx bid responses to compare bids, develop award scenarios, and present recommendations that optimize total cost of ownership for the Company.
  • Based on RFx responses, scorecards, and market intelligence, negotiate optimal commercial terms and conditions in accordance with all applicable Company policies, federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Document justification for an award of a bid or RFP as part of every sourcing imitative or project.
  • Manage multiple moderate to high complexity sourcing projects with the ability to multi-task and change priorities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all Sourcing projects in accordance with Company and Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Category and Market Intelligence: Maintain a thorough knowledge of products & services in category space, suppliers’ processes and industry trends and practices.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of category-related business developments in the marketplace and the possible impact to the Company.
  • Strategic Relationships: Build strategic working relationship with key stakeholders in the organization to facilitate Sourcing initiatives.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain high caliber professional relationships with suppliers and internal clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to streamline business process, reduce costs, mitigate risk and add value to the organization through strategic sourcing processes.
  • Identify and develop cost reduction opportunities by collaborating with operations, supply chain, finance and other departments as needed.
  • Participates as a member of the various Teams.
  • Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
  • Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve possible synergy within the larger organization.
  • Support Lean Initiatives by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions to streamline processes and improve quality.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of enterprise level experience or equivalent in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, including proficiency in utilizing E-sourcing (E-RFx) tools.
  • Experience working collaboratively with individuals and groups from a wide variety of backgrounds and organization levels, to incorporate their ideas, adapt to their needs, and to form consensus in appropriate situations.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, researching and analyzing changing business trends, marketplace conditions, raw material price trends, changes in the labor market and competitive information.
  • Hands-on experience and demonstrated performance in applying data analysis to identify baseline spend and primary cost drivers, compare bids, define leverage and negotiation strategies, and build optimal award scenarios based on known Business Requirements.
  • Knowledge and expertise using various proven negotiation methods and the ability to critically analyze a negotiation.
  • Deep segment and Business Unit knowledge including operational and business performance impact.
  • Strong organization skills, including meeting facilitation and decision making.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, computer skills and attention to details, proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productivity applications.
  • Excellent written communications, negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver effective presentations for various levels of management.
  • High level of commitment to customer service and team work.
  • Ability to think and act strategically.
  • Expertise with data warehouse queries and using analytical tools to interpret, cleanse, organize and generate useful information.
  • Experience working in a complex organization (i.e., ability to operate independently and under pressure, to perform multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and to deal with changing priorities, while maintaining personal effectiveness).
  • Experience in building strategic working relationships, including building networks through tradeshows and conferences.
  • Working knowledge of financial concepts, including plan, budget, P&L statements and other financial statements.
  • Sourcing experience in the Financial Services Industry preferred.
  • Nationally recognized professional purchasing certification such as CPM, CPSM, CPPB, or CPPO preferred.
  • Master's or advanced degree preferred.
