Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The P ayroll Assistants will assist the Payroll Practitioner in all tasks, including tracking hours worked for all employees, and dispensing payroll to employees. Accurately issue pay to employees by calculating earnings and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines. This position entails maintaining a professional and highly confidential rapport with all levels of staff members and leadership. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

•        Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

•        Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, child support orders, wage garnishments and other deductions.

•        Maintains employee time records; sends weekly timesheet reminders to contingent staff.

•        Mileage tracking for Paid Sick Time Accruals (Chicago & Cook County).

•        Communicates with CRS Group Account Managers & Contingent Workers with time & attendance related issues.

•        Assist & provide back-up support to the Payroll Practitioner for bi-weekly payroll processing, and special assignments when needed

•        Maintain FT/PT Status of all Contingent Workers for yearly ACA Reporting.

•        Maintain Active and Terminated Employee Payroll Files.

•        Administrative Support / General Clerical experience to including filing, etc.

•        Maintain Active and Terminated Employee Payroll Files.
