Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for an Underwriting Specialist for one of our clients in the Fort Washington area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
 
Job Description:


We are looking for an experienced office worker, preferably with an insurance background, to perform high level administrative and underwriting duties.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide quick turnaround on requests
  • Compile and summarize pertinent data into underwriting file (electronic)
  • Facilitate requests for loss run
  • Run MVRs and evaluate following established procedure
  • Process change requests in policy admin system and email invoice/documents to broker/client
  • Process Notice of Cancellations from finance company following established procedure
  • Enter and maintain data in computer system

Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, Access) to work in spreadsheets and with insurance premium raters
  • Strong verbal and written skills to communicate with underwriter and brokers
  • Must be very organized and able to work with speed and accuracy in a demanding environment
  • Ability to effectively support underwriters and manager to deliver superior service to our customers
  • Insurance knowledge/terminology a plus
  • Analyze new and renewal insurance applications to determine eligibility for coverage, available terms and conditions for pricing in accordance with established market underwriting guidelines
  • Submit new applications from brokers to underwriter for rate indications
  • Assess renewal submission from brokers for rate indications
  • Facilitate proposal and bind order in timely manner
  • Manage submission and tracking with underwriters
  • Property Casualty License preferred required within six months of hire date.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with detail and possess strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Goal oriented with the ability to solve problems
  • Learn multiple productions to support revenue growth for program business
  • Strong PC skills with a solid knowledge base in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
  • Ability to learn multiple products quickly to support revenue growth for program business
