Duration: 6 month contract
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Collaboration Product Manager for one of our clients in the Vernon Hills area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • The Product Manager position involves being responsible for leading the activities surrounding the business analysis, product development, product management, sales enablement and financial success of various product lines while maintaining a high standard of quality and team leadership
  • This individual will lead financial reporting of certain products and the product line strategic plan, develop P&L objectives, make decisions on pricing and competitive positioning, and work with a cross-functional team to execute the plan. In addition, this person will be the knowledge resource for industry trends, market opportunities; key customer needs and also seek to uncover new growth opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all activities for assigned lines, ensuring profitability and contributing to the maintenance of a high standard of quality
  • Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product lines 
  • Market Analysis 
  • Conduct market research to specify user requirements for current and future products 
  • Responsible for successful delivery of product releases to the marketplace
  • Maintain product strategy and roadmap, including competitive and market positioning including business plan, sales goals and margins
  • Drive Service development 
  • Lead and manage cross-functional collaboration for the development of new products including project management of such effort 
  • Participate in service development efforts including bid assurance and contribute to technical design reviews 
  • Drive the roadmap working closely with engineers - including product training 
    d. Release Management - determine release schedule and productization of solutions to incorporate and communicate new features and functionality
  • Sales Enablement 
  • Enable various cross functional sales teams to sell the service product (including training) 
  • Conduct pricing vs. revenue analysis for assigned product lines 
  • Address innovative cost reduction solutions for assigned service products, including leading analysis of per-unit pricing and costs for these product lines
  • Ensure reporting and payment of licensing for assigned Managed Services products (working with delegated personnel)
  • Customer Relationship management including escalation, consultation of product roadmap / direction, lifecycle
  • Build effective relationships between functional departments to ensure business alignment including but not limited to all services teams, marketing (portfolio, position product), and sales
  • Responsible for product profitability 
  • Work with financial teams to develop financial P&L performance, forecasting, ROI 
  • Owner of pricing models, SOWs, review of profit of individual deals and overall solution 
  • Manage Full product lifecycle including the determination of loss leaders. Develop and execute retirement plans
  • Technical 
  • Operational input including capacity management, planning, internal and external communication and coordination 
  • Full technical understanding of the product and ability to articulate in detail and at a high level depending on audience
  • Manage partner relationships as assigned 
  • Ensure reporting and payment of licensing for assigned Managed Services products (working with delegated personnel)
  • National travel up to 20% of the time 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Information Technology or business related field
  • Six or more years experience in any combination of the following: 
  • Product Management 
  • Services Offering Management 
  • Technical Product Architecture and Development 
  • Experience in Cisco Unified Communications including UC, UCAS, or Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) 
  • Experience in building aaS offerings 
  • Knowledge of the UC market and competitive offerings 

Other Required Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in IT Managed Services (Delivery or Pre-Sales) 
  • Ability to present to clients and understand their business needs 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology product offerings and solutions 
  • Proven record of successful project management and organizational skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint 
  • Experience with sales productivity tools 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the company including Senior Leadership 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and conduct primary research 
  • Ability to multitask and be adaptable in a fast changing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA 
  • Two+ years of business analysis experience 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Collaboration products also desired
