Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Data Center Hosting and Service Operations Manager for one of our clients in the Oak Brook area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • The Data Center Hosting and Service Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that server, storage, and network needs are architected and manage by our suppliers for reliable, scalable, and performance based operations throughout our Global Data Center footprint (private cloud, AWS, and Azure)
  • The Data Center Hosting and Service Operations Manager is responsible for understanding industry standards and best practices to best ensure modern infrastructure uptime and performance
  • Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies across the entire hosting infrastructure stack
  • Provide recommendation to our supplier on architecture and operational areas of improvement
  • Heavy dependency on implementing improving operational excellence, identify areas of improvement/cost savings
  • Manage the ITSM processes: Change, Incident, Major-incident, Problem, and Capacity Management

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our global application support teams with respect to availability, functionality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and scalability
  • Ensure 24/7 operation availability of our Global hosting platform to all areas of the world
  • Articulate and mediate tradeoffs related to scalability, manageability, testability, security, maintainability, usability, functionality, cost, and time
  • Establishes criteria for measuring these items in development and production as they relate to infrastructure components
  • Introduce new technologies that help reduce cost while improving time to deliver
  • Deliver and support designs that meet business requirements and the needs of our financial application support teams
  • Participate in development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization, modernization, and automation
  • Manage and insure ITIL standards are being followed for all ITSM related processes (Change, Incident, Major-incident, Problem, Capacity, Asset, and Infrastructure Lifecycle Management)
  • Develop and support multi-year capability, technology, cloud, and service operations road maps
  • Develop process design standards and guidelines that provide governance and agility for our users, and mentor other SDMs and engineers on best practices
  • Continually monitor and engage with internal and external consumers of our shared technology foundations
  • Align operational strategy with business objectives and architectural principles
  • Significant focus on managing and improving operational processes to continually improve operational excellence with our strategic suppliers
  • Communicates well with team members to earn trust, persuade, motivate, and mentor
  • Multi-task multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressured environment
  • 24x7x365 Global operations, must be willing to be available for out of hours work

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail
  • Managing resources and services through an IT outsourcer (ITO) / Managed Service Provider (MSP)Understanding of Compute, Storage, Network, and Virtualization in Global Data Centers
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools and concepts repeatable deployments
  • Rich experience with private and public cloud solutions and industry trends
  • Strong rapport and relationship building skills with both internal departments and external suppliers
  • Strong background on successful execution of ITIL disciplines to improve operational excellence
  • (Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, Release Mgmt), ITIL Foundation Certification a plus
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Able to take a creative approach to situations and problem solving
  • Understanding of IT industry working practices / methodologies
  • Conceptual and operational experience with VMWare Virtualization suite a plus
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow a plusAWS, Azure, Devops experience a plus
