Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the HR Department on personnel matters and benefits administration, and performs related work as assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

•         Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures

•         Conducts new employee orientations for contingent staff

•         Submits the online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks for contingent staff

•         Verifies I-9 documentation and completes I-9 form for new contingent staff

•         Runs E-Verify to ensure the potential employee is eligible to work in the United States.

•         Collects EEO-1 information

•         Prepares new employee files (hard and soft copies)

•         Files documents into appropriate employee files

•         Performs other related duties as required and assigned

•         Provides daily updates to Staffing and Sales Department regarding candidates on-boarding status

•         Assists in benefits administration to include collecting enrollment applications and/or benefits waiver forms, enrollment for new employees, and change reporting

•         Answering employee requests and questions

•         Answers phone for the company

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. At times may require some additional hours.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
