IT Asset Management Consultant
Duration: 8 month contract
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a IT Asset Management Consultant for one of our clients in the Milwaukee area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • Provide consultation for software purchases and coordination with Supply Chain to ensure accurate licensing documentation is provided and clearly understood for each software or subscription purchase
  • Participate as required in contract negotiations
  • Support IT and client projects by providing license and contract guidance
  • Work with suppliers to clarify licensing rights and to obtain and/or negotiate appropriate licensing and maintenance documentation
  • Analyze and present product, licensing and maintenance alternatives for software purchases to clients and IT management
  • Provide ongoing license guidance to clients including ad hoc questions, life cycle upgrade support, and management of ITAM mailbox and ITAM Remedy assigned work
  • Participate in weekly change control review for license compliance and support bi-monthly change control quality review process
  • Administer the auditing process for company software
  • Conduct software license audits for high and medium risk products as well as any other products where a true-up or simple product review is not sufficient
  • Analyze the adequacy of product and licensing documentation and obtain or negotiate for all required information 
  • Consult with clients on compliance issues, taking action to ensure that out-of-compliance issues are resolved
  • Produce reporting related to overall software auditing and compliance results
  • Take lead responsibility, in consultation with IT upper management, for the oversight of any supplier-initiated audits
  • Regular review of high dollar / high visibility contracts and maintenance renewals, looking for cost reduction or risk reduction opportunities
  • Administer policies and procedures relating to software procurement and management supporting Remedy Application Portfolio Management and other related software processes
  • Management and implementation of the software maintenance process including pre-work reviews for large $, large risk renewals and responding to and supporting software owner questions
  • Manage the workload and consistency of process for the IT Information Specialists along with training of the Specialists and others
  • Daily support of Service Request Management processes for software and hardware management
  • Management and support of the software retirement process
  • Provide ongoing supplier relationship management for ongoing blanket software and hardware suppliers
