IT Infrastructure Technical Writer
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: Newark, DE
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a IT Infrastructure Technical Writer for one of our clients in the Newark area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses
  • May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • May lead and direct the work of others
  • Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

  • Qualifications:
  • General conceptual understandings of SCADA systems
  • General knowledge of technical documentation and network, rack, and various equipment diagrams
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, ability to maintain configuration documents, processes, diagrams, and develop new procedures
  • Must understand and be willing to follow critical regulations pertaining to NERC Cyber Information Protection (CIP) guidelines
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Visio and the ability to create and update various technical diagrams
  • This role will be a part of an integral member of the support team and must be able to take direction, take initiative, follow procedures, and work independently as required
  • Applicant must be willing to work off-hours as required
  • Limited travel will be required between regional offices
  • Must be able to function in a highly secured area and follow tightly regulated processes and procedures
  • Must perform duties as assigned
  • Previous NERC-CIP compliance experience is preferred
  • Required Skill sets Include:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NERC CIP standards, including experience with compliance enforcement tools (i.e. Tripwire Enterprise) and program-level documentation in effort to prove compliance
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Oracle 12c and MSSQL Databases, including:
  • Writing Visual-Basic macros to mass edit and relate data within Excel and Visio documents
  • Creating, modifying, and building Visio shape data linked with an external database
  • Technical writing experience with creating job-aid documentation, following provided templates
  • ESP drawing experience, including network, asset, and zone identifications
  • Willingness and ability to work flex time
  • Requirement for occasional travel
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance requirements
