Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Legal Assistant for one of our clients in the Chicago area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • The Property Management Legal Team is comprised of lawyers and other professionals who provide legal services focused in the area of real estate property management issues that impact restaurant locations in the U.S, and providing legal support related to portfolio of surplus real estate
  • The Property Management Legal Team has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant
  • Under supervision of attorneys and/or paralegals, and contract workers, performs administrative duties to support the legal functions associated with the work of the Property Management Team

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Basic understanding of and ability to identify various real estate documents
  • Receives, opens, sorts and delivers daily incoming mail
  • Receives, organizes and manages record and file requests and deliveries
  • Processes invoices and obtains appropriate authorization for payment
  • Answers telephone calls take messages, and responds to routine inquiries
  • Sends faxes, courier correspondence and e-mail messages to customers and clients
  • Types, proofs, copies and distributes correspondence/legal documents
  • Tracks and responds to incoming calls and letters from external customers
  • Receives, organizes and distributes incoming documents for principals
  • Drafts letters and responses to handle routine correspondence
  • Establishes, organizes and maintains files, records and electronic data banks
  • Makes flight, hotel, and other travel arrangements for principals
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as the ability to work independently in solving daily obstacles
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with professional-level individuals
  • Able to balance conflicting priorities
  • Uses technology appropriately
  • Understands team's goals, contributes to the team's success by being an active participant and promotes a shared responsibility for achieving results
  • Assists the team in identifying opportunities to improve communication within and outside the group
  • Participates in the training of new employees within the department
  • Leads the team in the use of and application of software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Team Connect, Virtual Premise etc.
  • Demonstrates professional integrity. Exercises good judgment in handling sensitive information
  • Maintains knowledge of appropriate software packages
  • Communicates information effectively in a clear and concise manner

  • High School or equivalent experience required, including typing and other business-related courses
  • Minimum of three years prior administrative experience required (real estate experience and project management experience a plus)
  • Fast and accurate typing skills
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
