Project Manager
Duration: 10 month contract
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Project Manager for one of our clients in the Cedar Rapids area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • Leads intermediate sized project teams and may occasionally act as sub-team lead for large projects or enterprise programs
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of assigned duties and responsibilities of the team members to meet the project and executive leaderships' expectations
  • Leads and/or participates in managing project integration, scope, time, costs and quality and communicates the status, risk and issues associated with each to the correct level(s) within the project structure and the organization to ensure that the project outcomes are achieved as defined, within budget and on time
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads cross functional and consultant team members assigned during the duration of a project to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance on a continuous basis to project team members in the areas of project lifecycle, operating procedures, processes and practices
  • Monitors workload of team members and provides feedback on individual and team performance
  • Creates risk management plan to identify, analyze, monitor and respond to risks associated with the project to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget
  • Leads activities required to complete project documents: project plan, project charter, scope, and project schedules
  • Obtains appropriate level of approval for all project documentation and/or sub teams assigned to ensure appropriate understanding of expectations among all stakeholders
  • Develops project cost estimates and budgets for assigned projects and initiates cost control measures to ensure projects budgets are met
  • Communicates project status to team and business owners throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the project
  • Occasionally assumes responsibility for procurement management related to the project to ensure proper selection, contract development and contract administration for vendors used during the project
  • This associate will generally be responsible for managing projects with the following criteria:
  • Revenue or cost responsibility between $1M and $5M per project
  • Typically last approximately 6 months to 1 year
  • Involve around 3-5 different departments within a functional area and may include multiple functional areas
  • Project teams are 10 to 20 associates
  • Lead 1-2 intermediate projects or track lead 1-2 large projects and may concurrently lead several small projects
  • Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or comparable experience required
  • Two or more years project management experience required
  • Three or more years of functional experience required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creates an environment that motivates, inspires and respects others
  • Ability to build team cohesiveness to achieve results
  • High organization and planning skills
  • Ability to self start and be versatile in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to promote a shared vision and customer focus
