Technical Writer
Duration: 9-month contract
Location: Riverwoods, IL
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Technical Writer for one of our clients in the Riverwoods area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Job Description:
  • The Consultant Technical Writer will support production, quarterly updates, editing and publication of the documentation within the Toolkit owned by Global Partner Operations including the implementation guides, FAQs, and presentations
  • The Consultant will work with the subject matter experts to ensure the documents are correct and complete and will co-ordinate the process of passing the documents through technical and legal review before conducting final checks for publication
  • The Consultant may also be required to help the team to review and update its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and to help ensure they are reviewed and approved to comply with company-defined deadlines
  • Should be flexible and able to adapt to support other documentation tasks from time to time as the need arises

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Support Team in the maintenance and evolution of implementation guides, presentations and related documentation
  • Co-ordinate review cycles and incorporate feedback from multiple internal and external reviewers; ensure that conflicting comments are discussed and a final decision made
  • Maintain records and manage version control of documents in production
  • Ensure documents published are accurate and correct (hyperlinks working correctly, tables of contents correctly updated etc.)
  • Help to update, review and generate new SOPs as necessary
  • Job Responsibilities may expand to additional operational areas outside Franchise documentation support
  • Able to co-ordinate activities by others and provide work effectively in cross-functional project teams
  • Comfortable working with low levels of day to day supervision – able to self-start, manage their own time and be proactive in resolving issues within the team or with other teams

  • Strong PC competency (MS Office products including Word and Visio)
  • Willing and able to work from home for the majority of the time
  • The Consultant must possess the judgment to plan and accomplish goals working independently in highly complex situations
  • Works independently on extremely complex projects in their area of specialty
  • Highly skilled with extensive experience and proficiency in area of specialty
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to summarize and present information at the appropriate level of detail for the intended audience across various levels in the organization and externally
  • Excellent command of written English
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, in business, finance or computer science
  • Experience of card payments, ideally including general payments processing, EMV, and product management
  • Preferred Experience in Area of Expertise 3-5 Years Location US based or UK based
