Position: User Experience Researcher
Duration: 3-6 months

If you love figuring out what makes users tick, I want to meet you. You will work with a top-notch team exploring the space where ecommerce meets the rest of the shopping world: retail, social, mobile. I am looking for someone to provide support to Sr. UX Researchers to recruit participants, plan, moderate, and report on lab and remote usability tests.

I am looking for a UX Researcher / Usability tester with exceptional communication skills and collaboration experience, survey design experience and some Agile experience. The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or Human Factors / or cognitive or Social Psychology or experience in lieu of and minimally a bachelors degree with 2-3 years of experience.

The User Experience (UX) organization is a multi-disciplinary services organization that designs user interactions and experiences with devices, systems and services that provide an overall positive, engaging and productive experience. The organization serves the varying user experience and design needs across the Enterprise and is comprised of UX Designers, Interactive Content Writers, Design Research and Usability Analysts, Creative Technologists and Interactive Visual Designers that come together to design delightful experiences. UX Research captures end-user needs and goals through a number of research and analysis methods. They also plan, coordinate and conduct evaluative usability testing throughout the design process.

This position:
The User Experience (UX) Research Sr Consultant II will execute a variety of UX research programs ranging from contextual inquiry, in-depth interviews to interface evaluations and usability testing. This position will work either work independently on medium complex projects or work within a team on larger projects and contribute to the planning, recruiting, and execute portions of the research, analysis and reporting of the research activities.

Responsibilities
  • Create estimates and project plans related to UX research efforts for moderately complex projects
  • Perform research to gather end-user requirements independently
  • Create journey maps, user profiles, user scenarios and research objectives, aligned with project and business goals
  • Independently plan, conduct and facilitate iterative evaluations of user-interface designs (usability testing, mock-up interviews, heuristic reviews, qualitative and quantitative measures)
  • Plan and conduct formal user interface design reviews
  • Assist in defining and refining UX research processes and promote the importance of such activities to ensure execution
  • Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within a research function required.
  • Ability to exhibit an understanding of all the activities involved in the Usability testing process
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing of usability tests
  • Experience training peers and other team members in proper testing techniques
  • Experience conducting heuristic reviews for moderate to complex applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build rapport and establish credibility, thrives in collaborative work
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Web Trends, UserZoom, Morae and other usability and analytical software tools
  • Four year degree, Master’s desired, in Human Factors/Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental / Social Psychology, Cognitive Science or related field, or combined education and equivalent work experience

    UX researcher. The products they are working on; one is on the Allstate quoting platform and also my account, which is the customer portal where they manager their insurance. Working with a very collaborative team, this person should be open to being in this environment. User zoom for moderate testing and Validately.
    TOP SKILLS: Experience in usability testing, remote testing/ moderate testing, AGILE fast working team, experience doing research quickly and turning it around.
    Supporting another research that is already dedicated to those projects. This person will be doing usability testing, working out with the team; there are architects and UX Strategists that are on the team as well. Working with other researcher and Matt to accomplish the work.
    They will also be doing survey design.
    Looking for someone who has a master’s degree in behavioral science, HCI, sociology. 2-3 years experience, depending what their experience. Doesn’t mean they wouldn’t consider people who don’t have the experience.
    INTERVIEW: 2 rounds. 30 minute phone screen to get BG and chat, then there will be a in-person, 2 hour second round. (May be doing the second round with one candidate and first round with another)
