Web Accessibility Specialist
Duration: 6 month contract
Location: Riverwoods, IL
Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Web Accessibility Specialist for one of our clients in the Riverwoods area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for testing website utilizing automation tool to run assessments and provide insight
  • Responsible for identifying and suggesting potential solutions to deliver accessible content on Web and Mobile
  •  Be able to suggest testable solutions designed to integrate with a  dynamic code base
  • Command a keen sense of dynamic UI coding and design to understand when less is more and when its not from both an accessibility and usability perspective
  • Be able to teach methods and techniques for addressing accessibility barriers in a variety of forums
  • Have broad electronic communications accessibility knowledge, UI development and design experience, compassion and organizational abilities
  • Vastly improve the experience people with disabilities have when encountering any form of electronic communications provides
  • Have excellent organizational skills and be able to work collaboratively with diverse teams and alone
  • Possess a strong command in written and verbal communications

  • 5+ years of experience in web accessibility analysis, design and development experience
  • Bachelors degree in informations technology, human computer interactions or related fields considered an advantage and/or Equivalent experience will be accepted
  • Ability to analyze code and knowledge of HTML, ARIA, JavaScript, Java and .net code is required
  • Experience with JAWS, VoiceOver , Zoomtext, FireEyes is required
  • Extensive knowledge of web communication accessibility barriers is essential
  • Thorough knowledge of WCAG 2.0 standards
  • Deep knowledge of cross-platform and browser compatibility issues
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of project stakeholders (e.g. Executives, Managers, Designers, Developers, Testers)
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve by recommending best solutions on accessibility standards
  • Experience working with Accessibility Tools (automation tools)
  • Provide daily/weekly status reports and inform management of any issues that require escalation
  • Must be self-motivated, result oriented and a strong team player
